COVID-19 Awareness

This pandemic has spread around the globe. It had an impact on us. Both our health and our economy

Many people died due of this Coronavirus sickness. Our economy breaks down due of community quarantine. Many people are going hungry, and many of us have lost our jobs as a result. But regardless of what we believe, we must follow the safety rules. Observing social distancing wherever you go, wearing your face mask, and sanitizing every inch of your body are the protocols that could prevent the transmission of the virus. Providing fake contact information will just exacerbate our predicament. Improper moves may put everyone in danger.

When you are observing these protocols, you can save your life and other’s lives as well.

After experiencing a horrible encounter with COVID-19 myself, I truly want to increase awareness about it. It can bring mental and emotional agony not only to yourself but also to those around you, in addition to the fever, coughing, shortness of breath, and other symptoms it causes.

COVID-19 cases have increased by about 5,000 since the beginning of January, which is quite concerning. Aside from that, a new variant has emerged that has the potential to twist the curve once more. That is why, as a COVID-19 survivor, I wish to raise awareness. Learn to avoid touching surfaces that have been touched by people infected with COVID-19, especially in public areas or health facilities, to avoid becoming infected. Clean surfaces on a regular basis with conventional disinfectants. Hands should be washed frequently with soap and water or with an alcohol-based hand massage. Maintain social separation and always wear your facemasks.

Ecosystem Restoration of the World Environment Day 2021

Today, most things are recyclable. But is most enough?

No...

Improper waste disposal may cause health problems, land and water pollution, And worse,  loss of biodiversity. Take note... Plastic bottles may take 450 years to decompose. And styrofoams may take 500 years.

By recognizing the effects of improper waste management and garbage problem can be prevented by practicing proper collection and transfer, characterization and segregation, recycling, and composting. Just like what the Ecological Solid Waste Management Program of DENR is implementing. Because of these solutions, the world that's full of trash and problems may turn into a world that's peaceful and beautiful.

Mother's Day

In Tony talks, I watched Candy Pangilinan's interview. There she talked about her painful experiences and Quentin, her only son. And a thought struck me. I thought about 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.  This is what it said:

Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or  selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

And I remembered my mom, who would always sing me to sleep. Who would always comfort me when I'm down. Who had sleepless nights, thinking of what to do.  Who's ready to sacrifice for her children. And the one who's always ready to jump to take a bullet. No amount of gratitude could ever replace the blood, sweat, and tears she went through for all of us. And even though I always rebelled against her, I'm still very grateful that she handled my stubbornness and attitude.

I thought of my grandma, who is stubborn but nonetheless loving and caring. Who always lectures me about doing good deeds. Who always yells at me for coming home late from school. Who always gives me a piece of advice.

Mommy & Mama

I also thought about my sister, who's far away from me. Who's also taking good care of a naughty child of her own. Who's always forgiving and caring. A novice mom, even though panicking,  would do everything for her son.

Ate Anne with Uno

(LOL! Add ko na rin sila kasi tinitiis nila ako lalo na kapag tinotopak ako HAHA)

They may always nag at me, but they will forever be my greatest treasures.

Binatbatan Festival of the arts

When I was in elementary, I used to compete with other schools in Binatbatan street dancing and showdowns.  But now that there's this pandemic that's been giving us headaches, I couldn't witness the glorious festival in the month of May. Way back before this mess started, I used to watch schools performing historical dances. I used to watch the Calesa parade, ramada or traditional games, and stage dramas.  I used to perform with my choirmates on the Samiweng competition or go to food stalls. Those things may have been a routine every month of May, but now it's completely different. I hope that everything will be back to normal soon so I could do all these things once again.

We are safe because we are saved

Recently, most of my family members with comorbidities have been vaccinated. I observed their conditions, and thankfully, they didn't feel any side effects. But I know that doesn't fully guarantee my family's safety from COVID. Some vaccines may work, and some may don't.

When you're vaccinated already, that doesn't necessarily mean that we should be complacent.  We should still follow safety protocols. We should still wear our masks, face shields, maintain social distancing ,and practice proper hygiene.

Triumph of the Fallen

In order for humanity's survival, one must sacrifice his own life for thousands. As a frail child, I have never understood the importance of war. But growing up, my perceptions about heroism and patriotism changed. One must sacrifice for the greater good, or many would perish. One must die, so thousands would live. One should suffer, or thousands would. One must give up his legacy, and the other should pursue his own. It's not the death that gives triumph with the opposed. But it's the wits, love, and honor that conquers. War may be painful, but rage and abused power are the worst things you could experience.

" My dearest War, when will my flag flex its color blue. For my people are suffering, and I should do that plenty of times too. For the freedom and glory of my country, you have given me pain and agony."

I thought that I could never survive this school year. But regardless of what I think, this school year taught me a lot. At first glance, you can see me hovering around my modules. First Grading was tough, but it taught me a lot. And so, those challenges that I've encountered, prepared me for the Second Grading period. And now, even though it's really hard. I know that I've learned quite a lot. Aside from those lessons in my modules, it taught me to be more responsible and productive. There's a lot to it than what it seems.

So dear Second Grading, You were fun to be with.....
