Ecosystem Restoration of the World Environment Day 2021

Today, most things are recyclable. But is most enough?

No...

Improper waste disposal may cause health problems, land and water pollution, And worse,  loss of biodiversity. Take note... Plastic bottles may take 450 years to decompose. And styrofoams may take 500 years.

By recognizing the effects of improper waste management and garbage problem can be prevented by practicing proper collection and transfer, characterization and segregation, recycling, and composting. Just like what the Ecological Solid Waste Management Program of DENR is implementing. Because of these solutions, the world that's full of trash and problems may turn into a world that's peaceful and beautiful.

Mother's Day

In Tony talks, I watched Candy Pangilinan's interview. There she talked about her painful experiences and Quentin, her only son. And a thought struck me. I thought about 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.  This is what it said:

Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or  selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful. Love takes no pleasure in other people's sins, but delights in the truth. It is always ready to excuse, to trust, to hope, and to endure whatever comes.

And I remembered my mom, who would always sing me to sleep. Who would always comfort me when I'm down. Who had sleepless nights, thinking of what to do.  Who's ready to sacrifice for her children. And the one who's always ready to jump to take a bullet. No amount of gratitude could ever replace the blood, sweat, and tears she went through for all of us. And even though I always rebelled against her, I'm still very grateful that she handled my stubbornness and attitude.

I thought of my grandma, who is stubborn but nonetheless loving and caring. Who always lectures me about doing good deeds. Who always yells at me for coming home late from school. Who always gives me a piece of advice.

Mommy & Mama

I also thought about my sister, who's far away from me. Who's also taking good care of a naughty child of her own. Who's always forgiving and caring. A novice mom, even though panicking,  would do everything for her son.

Ate Anne with Uno

(LOL! Add ko na rin sila kasi tinitiis nila ako lalo na kapag tinotopak ako HAHA)

They may always nag at me, but they will forever be my greatest treasures.

Binatbatan Festival of the arts

When I was in elementary, I used to compete with other schools in Binatbatan street dancing and showdowns.  But now that there's this pandemic that's been giving us headaches, I couldn't witness the glorious festival in the month of May. Way back before this mess started, I used to watch schools performing historical dances. I used to watch the Calesa parade, ramada or traditional games, and stage dramas.  I used to perform with my choirmates on the Samiweng competition or go to food stalls. Those things may have been a routine every month of May, but now it's completely different. I hope that everything will be back to normal soon so I could do all these things once again.
